Delete an entity

Prerequisites

To use this feature, you must have Read and write access for the Data protection permission. If you don't have access and you think you should, contact the administrator of your account.

Caution

Once an entity is permanently deleted, it cannot be recovered.

We recommend using this feature to meet GDPR requirements.

For entities you may need later, for example, for audit purposes, we recommend failing or canceling the assessment instead. This hides the entity on the default view of the Entity management page. You can see the entity when needed by applying the Failed or Canceled filter.

Permanently delete an entity

  1. Go to the entity you’d like to permanently delete.

  2. Navigate to the Entity data section.

  3. Select the Delete icon This is a bin icon..

Individual entity highlighting the delete entity button.

A dialog is displayed to confirm your action.

If you can’t see the Delete icon, you don’t have Read and write access for the Data protection permission. Contact the administrator of your account to request access to the permission.

  4. Optionally, explain your decision to delete the entity in the Why are you deleting this entity? field. Don't include any personal information in your explanation.

  5. Select the Yes, permanently delete entity button. The entity is permanently deleted.

The entity's initials and, if provided, the explanation of the decision are stored in your institution's audit log. No other entity information is stored. Contact our Client Service team for a copy of your institution audit log.
